Wastewater Treatment Plant

The City of Katy’s wastewater treatment plant will serve the West Ten Business Park. The City’s existing wastewater treatment facility accommodates 3.4
MGD of capacity. Based on current usage, the City’s wastewater treatment facility has adequate capacity to provide service to the proposed West Ten Business Park.

Wastewater Collection System

The proposed wastewater collection systems for the West Ten Business Park are gravity systems designed to accommodate normal infiltration and sewage flows. The wastewater
collection system for the West Ten Business Park will be served by a 27” sanitary sewer line that is to be constructed by the City in connection with construction of Cane
Island Parkway. The wastewater collection system for a portion of the District will be served by utilizing capacity in an existing 10” sanitary sewer line and lift
station located on the north side of Highway 90.

The Sewage Treatment Plant provides satisfactory sewage collection and disposal for
the City at moderate cost to customers. Expansion of the facilities to meet growth
needs is a high priority. Katy’s process facility presently handles 1.8 MG per day.
They will soon be expanding to 3.4 MG per day. Facility expansion has begun.
